Who doesn't like pizza? Almost everyone loves to have a slice of the pie. So here's a vegetarian pizza recipe... because you don't need all that bad calories from those bad ingredients.

Let's make this vegetarian pizza recipe. Pizza is not an evil food. These pies have gotten a bad rap from society that it's so bad and all laden with calories. Relax. Don't be afraid of this pizza. It's innocent.

This vegetarian pizza recipe calls for homemade marinara sauce made from garden tomatoes, some vegan cheese if you want and all the veggie trimmings you may want to add on top. How's that for healthy, huh?

You know, what's life without a pizza pie? If you grew up ordering this good stuff, it just quite impossible to live your life without eating a slice or two. 

Oh the good things we take for granted. Life is too short not to have pizza every once in a while.

So, if you are a veggie, you don't have to deprive yourself. Make this simple vegetarian pizza recipe and you don't have to feel guilty eating those fat-laden versions drenched with oil crammed up with sausages, pepperonis and extra cheeses!

New York has the best pizza in all the world. I don't doubt it for sure, I lived there most of my life. It's got all the works. Make this homemade version right in the comforts of your very own kitchen! Your home will have the best pizza.

With this vegetarian pizza recipe, you can make your own crust or just buy it from the store. Though, I must warn you to never use the packaged ones that have been hanging or have been on the supermarket shelves for so long. NO!

For the crust: You can make your own but for this vegetarian dinner recipe, a supermarket dough from the refrigerated section of a supermarket has been used.

  • Homemade Marinara Sauce from the backyard garden
  • Vegan cheese (if you are vegan) if you are ovo lacto vegetarian you can use regular mozzarella cheese
  • If you are on a pescetarian diet then use some anchovies for the topping.
  • Asparagus with the tough stems trimmed off
  • Crushed pepper

*** Mushrooms and broccoli would do excellent with this recipe too!

NOTE: A Cast Iron Pizza Pan heats up evenly making a perfect crust for the pizza.

Pre-heat the oven at 375 degrees.

Work the dough into a floured surface such as a large cutting board or something. Flatten it out and don't worry if it's not perfect. No one is looking. It's just you in the kitchen. Get the kids to help if you want.

Once the dough is flattened, lay it down on a cookie sheet. I prefer a pizza stone because the crust just comes out perfect. But if you don't have a pizza stone, a cookie sheet will do.

You can now relax at this point from stretching and forming the crust, or you may have fun with it like turning it into a heart shaped like you see in this picture. 

Have fun with the toppings. Then stick it in the oven. Watch it until you see the crust turn into a golden crispy goodness like a pizza and the veggies are crisp cooked. You know what it should look like when it's cooked.

Dig in. I'm you'll devour it within minutes. 

Make it again.... and again.

A Round Pizza Stone or cast iron pizza pan are the best choice of tool for making a perfect pizza crust at home.
