Vegetarian Burrito Recipe - Make yourself some Tofurrito!

The traditional artery clogging burrito got boring. This vegetarian burrito recipe just showed up in the kitchen. Move over cholesterol bombs! Hello tasty nutrition!

Vegan BurritoThis vegetarian Burrito recipe is easy and fun to make for breakfast or for a toteable snack. This finger food is even perfect for picnic or at the beach. Take them along for a healthy meal on the go. Perfect!

Make this vegetarian burrito recipe and call it tofurrito. Simple vegetarian meals like this are high in protein and low in calories!

Never call those sugary fatty pastries 'goodies'. Those are artery clogging 'baddies'. The cheesy greasy eggs and sausages will definitely clog your arteries. Binge out on these healthy and nutritious vegetarian breakfast instead. 

Your body does not need too much of that common everyday eggs and breakfast sausages. Break the fast and start the day right with this simple vegetarian vegan meal. 

Vegan Burrito Ingredients

For the vegan burrito filling:

  • Extra Firm Tofu drained and crumbled
  • Diced Onion
  • Diced Garlic
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Turmeric for color
  • Tomato salsa or diced tomatoes
  • Diced red and green bell pepper
  • a tbp of oil to saute
  • a splash of hot sauce (optional)

Drain the extra firm tofu by putting it in a colander over a bowl with a cheese cloth or saran wrap on top. Press the moisture out by putting something heavy on it like a can of sauce or something. Leave it like that for about 30 to 45 minutes. You can do this ahead of time. 

When the tofu is drained out of it's liquid, crumble it and set aside.

With a little oil, saute the garlic and onion in The Wok (the most versatile cookware you'll ever own) until wilted.
Vegan Burrito FillingNoone will know it's not eggs unless you tell them!

Add in the diced red and green red bell pepper. Stir. Add in the crumbled Tofu, turmeric, salt & pepper. The turmeric will make the Tofu resemble scrambled eggs. Add in the tomato or salsa if preferred. Season with salt and pepper.

Heat up the tortillas in a nice Nonstick Omelette Fry Pan. A non-stick pan is a favorite because you don't want it to stick, do you?

Scoop enough filling mixture into it and wrap 'em in burrito style. Grill it in the same pan that the tortilla was heated in. 

Vegan Burrito

With just a little oil, pan grill the tofurritos turning them on all sides until they are all pretty brown on all sides as shown.

Serve warm. These are perfect tag along vegan finger food. They're perfect for lunch or an anytime snack.

Wrap up your breakfast or lunch with this delicious dish.

This is like finger food with character. 

Wanna make it with some heat? Put a splash of hot sauce in it. Some folks like it hot, you know.
