Tropical Smoothies can be so colorful and mouthwatering. They can make you feel like you're soaking up the sun rays without going to the tropics. Just imagine!

Tropical smoothies can be amazingly pretty and satisfying. After a 30 minute rendezvous with your blender you can sip this sexy drink and pretend you're watching the ebb and flow of the ocean waves in front of you - even if you're up 80 stories high in a brick jungle in the dead of winter. Hey, a girl can dream!

There is nothing like a colorful delicious smoothie to pretend that you're on the islands escaping a chaotic day.

Rich colorful smoothies and shakes takes the blah out of a humdrum day and give you a little umph. 

Red dragon fruits are great for healthy smoothies and shakes. These fruits are not too sweet and diabetic friendly. They give that bright electric pink color. Mix them with frozen bananas and you got a healthy raw food that's a filling meal.

  • 1 Pink Dragon Fruit
  • 2 Frozen Bananas
  • 10 Frozen Strawberries
  • 1 cup Frozen Cherries
  • 5 Pitted Dates
  • 1/2 cup water or soymilk (any nut milk will do)
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter (chunky or creamy)

Note: Easy on the dates and cherries if you are diabetic. You can replace them with fruits low in sugar so you can double up on the strawberries if you like. Some fruits have higher sugar content.

High sugar fruits in this recipe: Bananas, Cherries and Dates

Blend away. It will be creamy icy similar to soft serve ice cream because the fruits are frozen.

Serve in a pretty glass.
