Apple Banana Spinach Smoothie

Ingredients are what you see:

  • 3 Frozen bananas
  • 2 Apples
  • 1 bunch of Spinach
  • 4 pineapple slices
  • 1 tsp peanut butter
  • 4-6 Dates
  • an inch of ginger for zing

You can put any greens you like in this mix. Any left-over vegetable from cooking will do too, ie: broccoli stems, peppers, parsley... anything green. Apples, bananas and pineapples will make them sweet and creamy.

Vegetable scraps that usually go to the compost bin can be used in smoothies. They're great for blending or juicing. It's a good way to stretch your dollars when you utilize everything including stems and edible peels of your produce.

Though, make sure to wash your vegetables and fruits  thoroughly if you're not using organic. 

Good enough for a simple meal. You may call it: Dessert In A Glass. That can't get any more nutritious than that. 

Mean green delicious smoothies are the best way achieve your recommended daily allowance of fruits and veggies. You cannot eat all the vegetables & fruits in one setting, so why not blend them and put them in a glass?
