Here's a snippet of an old but really super delicious saucy and savory baked beans recipe.


You can dress up a can of beans in a jiffy here. With some green peppers, celery and a can of tomatoes, you are good to go. With just a hint of sweetness and a touch of garlic, these beans are naturals for summer picnics and patio meals.

So here's the recipe for this saucy delicious vegetarian baked beans:

- 1/2 cup of onion
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1 can (28 ounces) vegetarian baked beans
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, drained
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

In a large saucepan coated with nonstick cooking spray, cook the onion, green pepper and celery for 3 minutes or until tender. Stir in the beans, tomatoes, pepper, salt and garlic powder. Stir in the beans, tomatoes, pepper, salt and garlic powder. Bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat; simmer, uncovered for 10-15 minutes.

This is good for about 6 baked beans loving people in your family. They might want seconds.
