You know, when it comes to dessert, it's almost always like a religion. You gotta have chocolate. Nuts and chocolates are one of the hottest and preferred romantic dessert of all time and not just holidays. 

Don't medicate yourself with that box of chocolate that's filled with bad sugar, preservatives and additives. Have a heart. Be kind to your body. Sugar is a nasty enemy. It brings you nothing but a plethora of problems that aren't so sweet!

With this soft sweet and natural chocolate dessert, you don't need to turn the oven on. This raw food dessert recipe will save you from all that trouble. It's so simple and really fun to make. So let's get our hands all sticky.

  • about 10 dates soaked for a few hours & drained
  • Raw almonds soaked overnight or for at least 8 hours to soften
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons of raw cacao powder for the chocolate factor
  • 3 tablespoons of raw honey. 
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract or you can use vanilla pod

(you can also use agave nectar or maple syrup if you want for the sweetener) Pretty please... for your own good, don't use table sugar!

For this raw food dessert recipe, it is a must to soak your almonds for at least 8 hours. You must also soak the dates so that they're easy to work with when you put these little awesome candies together.

Take the soaked dates and put them in the food processor. Pour the water out of the dates that they were soaked in. Add them into the food processor. Add the cinnamon and vanilla including the sweetener you chose to use. I like to use raw honey as it has more nutritional benefits.

Give it a whirl in the food processor until they are all combined. It should form into a brown sticky dough. Then you're ready to assemble them in any shape you like. Shape them into hearts like in the ones in the picture if it's Valentines day. 

Dust them with extra cacao powder or roll them in coconut flakes. Serve with strawberries or other pretty red fruits. Celebrate!

It's absolutely divine. You don't have to gorge and medicate yourself with a box of bad chocolate candies filled with ooey gooey bad sugar on top of sugar! That's double trouble.
