Too busy to cook something healthy? No problem! Fruit and veggie power drinks come to the rescue. They're a perfect raw food breakfast that's guaranteed to give you the energy you need for the day.

Ever hear people say, 'Oh I can't remember a thing! I'm in a complete fog'. Well guess what, my friend... maybe you just need to start drinking some green fruit and vegetable smoothies and that fog will be a thing of the past for you.

A good intake of green vegetable power smoothies are just what your body needs to get out of that slump. Not only that they're delicious but they're way better than coffee in boosting the energy you need for the day.

Coffee is a stimulant that affects the nervous system and increase gastric acid production in the body. So coffee is not encouraged here but you can have a cup if you really crave it. Pretty soon, when you get used to drinking juices and smoothies, coffee will be history for your taste buds.

For sure, coffee will give you a temporary burst of energy too, but only for a few hours until you take that 2nd or 3rd cup refill. We're aiming to keeping our Ph in check here. We don't need an acidic body. So, let's drink some juices and smoothies instead!

  • 2 Frozen bananas
  • 1 bunch Asparagus
  • 1 Green Apple
  • a couple of leaves of Romain lettuce
  • 1 tsp peanut butter
  • 3 slices of pineapples (less if you are diabetic)
  • water or nut milk
  • Some ice
  • (Left-over green juice was to get the blender started.)

Blend them all together in a high speed blender until smooth.  Pour it in a pretty glass. Stick a fat straw in it. Share with a friend and slurp up the goodness together.

Bring on the asparagus!

Spring is the time when wonderful shoots of this plant emerge from the ground.

They're like tiny little bamboo shoots. They're perfect for juicing or add to smoothies!

They are known for cleansing the liver, so that's just cool. Whatever they're good for, they're just good! They taste so mild and perfect in green mean smoothies.

Spring smoothie

It's a taste of Spring! It's very energizing. It gave me that 'umph' to actually do some crazy desire to start the garden.

Asparagus are very mild tasting. Some parsley are added to make the color greener.

Parsley is optional if you don't like the taste. Spinach can be added too! Parsley is known to lower blood pressure so go for it.

Discarding the tough parts of the asparagus is no longer necessary. Now we can use them for this green smoothie recipe.

So why not power up on fruit and vegetable smoothies? It's like a vitamin powerhouse! Forget the gaggy medeciney vitamin pills. Just drink your green smoothies and fresh juices!

There's your breakfast. There's no cooking required.

NOTE to DIABETICS:
The body cannot tell what type of sugar it is that you ingest whether it's in the form of fruit juice, smoothies or starchy carbohydrates. Sugar is sugar to the body. So be mindful of portion control. Let's get moving and exercise!

Let juice be thy cup of Joe! Make it your morning beverage.
