Pour this in a big tall glass... it can make your insides all happy giving you the energy better than any other energy drink.

I like my blueberries in a smoothie - not in a muffin or a pie. How about you? Have you ever seen a blueberry muffin with fake blueberries in them? Oh, get real. Life is to short to eat fake food. 

It can make your tongue a little purple. Please do eat lots of these when you're about to go for your physical check-up just to terrify your doctor when you say: Ahh!

  • Banana (fresh or frozen)
  • Strawberries (ditto)
  • Blueberries
  • Apple
  • Soymilk or almond milk or water or ice

Toss all that in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour it in a tall glass and stick a big fat straw in it. Share it with the Papa Smurf or the smurfettes in your life and slurp away.

Tip #1: Put a tablespoon of peanut butter in it and blend. Peanut butter makes this smoothie taste heavenly. Well, unless you have a peanut allergy, then you can just skip it. 

Tip#2: You want it frothy? Add ice to it and just a bit of water to get the blender started.

Icy, fruity, frothy, smooth and delicious! Keeps you on your toes with energy all day! This is way better than drinking that cola or somethin'. Who needs that acid for a drink?

It's not wise to cook a fruit unless it's plantain or platanitos. They can then be cooked to make some fried bananas. But not these berries, no!

It's a sacrilege to cook these little blue gems. The life force that comprise them gets easily destroyed by heat. Blueberries are loaded with antioxidants that make your body all healthy.

I know they're great for pancakes and muffins. But I like them better in smoothies or eaten raw by the handful from a bowl.

I wouldn't trust those health-food stores making you berry smoothies. If you watch them, they'll get a scoop or a glob of gooey blue stuff full of sugar with chemicals from a tub or container that look like goo mixing it with yogurt.

Nope, you won't get the real berries stuff. The sugar content in store bought smoothies is scary.

So, if want the real stuff, make your own.

To make them really frothy, keep these fruits in the freezer. Stock up on them when they are in season and freeze them. That's one way to save money on food. Besides, fruits taste better when they're in season.

Making healthy breakfast smoothies that will make your tummy all happy is so worth it. All the trillion cells in your body need all your attention so shake up a tall glass of the real stuff!
