What is the best vegetarian diet?

The best vegetarian diet is the one you can follow without having to skip, jump, go through hoops and eventually lose track falling off your veggie wagon.

The best vegetarian diet should be less complicated than what the whole diet world is trying to tell everyone. You don't have to be the vegetarian gourmet to reap the benefits of a vegetarian diet.

You can be on the best vegetarian diet and still be a pasta lover. With just a simple modification from the boring chopped animal in the sauce to a simple nutrient-dense sauce with herbs and veggies, you will do just well.

Pasta can be made tasty too without the flesh, you know. The simple the food is, the better it is for you! The body won't get confused and say: Oh heck no... what on earth are you feeding me?

But then your body just don't have a choice. Go easy on it. It's the only one you've got. Where would you live without it?

Pasta with Basil Recipe - It smells divine!

Pasta with garden Basil.
  • Spaghetti (any number of your choice)
  • Garlic ( amount is your preference, we like a lot)
  • 2 cups of fresh basil  - actually more than 2 cups were used here because the garden was so abundant with it and we used as much as we can.
  • Grated Cheese ( Use vegan cheese if you like, if not, use the regular cheese. You can be an Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian for a bit).

Boil the pasta according to the package directions and get on with it. How else would you wanna do it, right? 

Just boil that thing until it's al-dente, meaning, edible and not mushy or under-cooked that you'll choke on it, just kidding.

When done, don't drain the pasta. Just set it aside away from heat while you prepare the sauce. Yes. We need that water in the pasta.

In a wok or a fry pan, saute the garlic in a bit of olive oil until it's cooked but not burnt.

Add the basil leaves. Stir until the herbs are just wilted then pour it on the boiled spaghetti with the water in it. 

Season with salt and pepper to your liking. Stir and serve with Italian bread or any bread of your choice. 

Yes, you can have some red Vino with your meal as well if you wish.

This is a go to meal when the basil in the garden are on a rampage. We love it because we love making this Pasta with Basil recipe. It's a very simple recipe to make.

Sauteing Tip: A wok is great for sauteing everything. 

Sauteing is always better when you own a wok! It gives you more wiggle room.

Who says vegetarian pasta is boring? Nope. Not this vegetarian pasta recipe with fresh basil sauteed into Spaghetti number something, whatever type you have available.

Don't be too hard on yourself and sprinkle some grated cheese on it if that's what you like. How about little bits of Locatelli cheese even, huh? Go right ahead!

Being too hard on yourself with too much restrictions can wreck havoc to what you are trying to accomplish when you are just starting a vegetarian diet.

The best vegetarian diet can be just eating your modified favorites. Less ingredients is better.

Also, the best vegetarian diet is something you can live with. It can be as easy as sauteing veggies together.

It's not even a diet. It's living a healthy lifestyle.
