It's creamy. It's dairy-free. It's egg-free... and it's chocolate! Hello! It's sweet and just as rich and indulgent as the traditional chocolate mousse.

Nobody will know avocado is the main ingredient in it unless you tell them.

Hass avocados are the ones that are easily found in stores everywhere. They are perfect and creamy enough to make this creamy unusual chocolate fruit dessert!

These naturally creamy avocados are swarming healthy kitchens being used in salads, guacamoles and delicious raw food dessert recipes such as this chocolate avocado mousse.

Hass Avocados
  • 2 Avocados
  • 2 tbp raw honey or Agave nectar
  • pinch of Cinnamon
  • 1 tbp Vanilla Extract 
  • Cacao Powder or 1 bar of organic 70% cacao chocolate bar (melted)
  • Cut the Avocados in half. Take the seeds out. 
  • Scoop the flesh and into the blender or food processor they go.
  • Melt the chocolate if using the bar type or chips
  • Add the raw honey or agave, cinnamon, vanilla extract and the melted chocolate.
  • Process until smooth. Scoop into a pretty container. 
  • Indulge without the guilt.

This stuff is very creamy and chocolate flavor is in every spoonful. It is rich and indulgent. You may never raise your eyebrows on it ever again.

You can use different varieties of avocados. Make sure they're ripe but not over ripe. They must be firm to the touch but not too soft. Um, they must be just right.

Avocados have a higher fat content but it's the good type of fat so don't be afraid. Your brain is made of fat. So don't worry about the fat. You need it - for brain health.

Growing up, we had different types of avocado trees in our backyard bearing fruits in abundance. I used to pick them fresh right from the tree. Countless times they fall on the ground and just rot there.

Some good things are just naturally taken for granted. Those were the days.
